French Heritage Introduces the Facet Collection by Michelle Workman
HIGH POINT, N.C. (April 20, 2017) – French Heritage, fine designer, manufacturer, and distributor of home furnishings unveiled Facet, its latest collection by renowned designer, Michelle Workman, at the Spring 2017 International Home Furnishings Market. The lifestyle collection of 45 pieces includes casegoods, upholstery, and occasional pieces for the living room, dining room, bedroom, and office.
French Heritage’s collaboration with Workman has been in the works or more than 18 months, bringing to the company a diverse product portfolio inspired by Hollywood Glam Deco for a collection that reflects a glamorous and sophisticated luxury. Beginning as a collection of hand drawn sketches, Henessy Wayser, President of French Heritage, worked closely with Workman to take her vision and make it a reality. The end results are exquisite forms that resonate with bold contemporary appeal that are timeless and of-the-moment.
Balance, proportion, and scale are evident throughout the collection with a series of casegoods and upholstered silhouettes in a creative juxtaposition of clean lines and curved silhouettes. Facet is emphasized by a selection of exotic woods, hand-rubbed wood finishes, glossy pastel lacquers, and faux Shagreen with accents of brass, copper, and nickel.
Workman’s belief that balance is created within a room when mixing styles and periods, marrying the old and new, and combining pattern and texture for an intensely personal and curated result that is reflected throughout her designs for French Heritage. Workman “relishes in the hunt,” evaluating each element to create a room rich with character and an easy familiarity that naturally evokes a sense of comfort in fashionable luxury.
“We knew immediately that Michelle would be a perfect partner with French Heritage to broaden its contemporary category,” said Wayser. “It was important that the designs had Modern flair but also remained rooted in our belief that home furnishings should reflect beautiful design and quality craftsmanship that are unique and special. Michelle did not disappoint! Her keen sense of style and understanding of the nuances of warm, transitional design, and love of the French Art Deco form made it easy for French Heritage to take that next step in expanding its design repertoire with the Facet Collection.”
Casegoods
Zebrawood, Rosewood, and Oak burl veneers, as well as textured faux Shagreen, and fashionable lacquers emphasizes the clean lines of the designs. Solid brass and copper, brass inlay, gold accents, nickel, and mirror with contrasting interiors add jewel-like touches to the designs.
Meticulous execution was used to complete the designs as Workman envisioned, and provided French Heritage with the opportunity to render true-to-form Old World craftsmanship. Each piece can stand-alone as a statement, or can perfectly complement existing furnishings within a room.
Upholstery and Fabrics
Rounding out the collection is a series of handcrafted upholstery that enhances the beauty of the casegoods in a lifestyle setting. French Heritage partnered with Kravet® by selecting a rich array of textural fabrics that includes velvets, satins, and woven jacquards offered in a palette of midnight blue, fuchsia, winter green, gypsy rose, and shades of light and deep purple.
